Opening At The Close

I found myself at odds with life today, I made mention to my Dad, (the Alive One) that I often find it difficult to acknowledge my misfortunes owing to the fact that I have always had a great fortitude in this cosmic journey called life.

Like Cain in the Bible, I cannot complain about the quality of air when others before us no longer breathe it...Cain was cursed and yet his curse made it possible for him to be shielded from death at the hand of another. A luxury Abel his brother never had.

Like wise I find it incredulous that Cain would have been one to complain of his burden or curse been too great when in fact he was getting off easy.

Cairn; is a human-made pile (or stack) of stones raised for a purpose, usually as a marker or as a burial mound.

In prehistory, they were raised as markers, as memorials and as burial monuments. Cairns are also used as trail markers. Why? you might ask, is all this connected...what's the correlation? Our misfortunes mark us, no man ever known to be great made it so without adversity. But greatness is not what everyone was set out to find in this world, with less misfortunes triumphed, we are left to live a life that may be termed a simple one. A life with no markers, no memorial nor monument. I lost someone very dear today and even still I don't know how to justify this misfortune. Because this person was a Great Monument in my life, A Great Cairn that taught me that in life there are people who aspire for greatness because they grew up knowing nothing but misfortunes. And along the way they lose their humility for those with less fortitude, who willingly settle for a simple life. The former step on the toes of the latter and for them to be forever on top they have to keep on living a life that profits off the manipulation of the innocent. My Stepdad,  for he always kept me in step with the right ideologies of life, was the exception, misfortunes acknowledged and conquered, he still had enough humility in him to be a stepping stone to people in his life, at work, in his profession and in the industry that he deeply loved and nurtured.

And for each step people took on him he led them to the greatness of their potential and the stepping stones piled up to form his legacy, A Great Cairn, to always show people the way and to make them see that it can be done. His Life is a milestone in the grand scheme of things, I should know for I Am His Son.
