Echoes of An Eco-System

The talks going on about how climate change is affecting the eco-system couldn't be as loud enough as they are across the global. Sadly though as loud as the sensitization is the trumpets are been blown on deaf ears as the effects become somewhat a sight for colour blind eyes. Recently Ethiopia boastfully announced to the rest of the world how it had managed to plant about a billion trees just between the months May and August, why? Prudence. We can't afford to turn blind eye nor turn colour blind for that matter to the harsh realities that are been infringed upon the environment. As much as it may take a few minutes to take down an Acacia Eucalyptus tree with a chainsaw machine the said tree in it's journey does a whole lot of good to the environment. On my regular mountain hikes in my now adoptive home town, i manage to scale the heights of the "mountain" like hills for a better view of the valley like town, with it's serpentine blue shimmering Kafuwe River i find myself at a loss of words by what i see. On a rather sunny August sky what should be a blue sky from horizon to horizon is nothing but a chalked up gray sky filled with smoke , with nothing but the River forming a natural barrier. As i look up am painfully reminded of a cartoon i once watched as a teen, for what lies ahead and beyond me seems much like a dome of smoke with nothing but the River to save us the populace from choking on the very air we breathe. There aren't alot of industries out here in Kafue and yet the amount of soot and smoke in the atmosphere is preposterous to the point of been catastrophic. Imagine places with heavy factories and industry how are they faring in the wake of lung diseases and conditions? A leaf has to taken out of what Ethiopia did and not cutting down the whole tree before we have a disastrous start on our Industrial Revolution ventures. Corporate responsibillity has to be enforced not just by the government but by all well meaning citizens especially the various stakeholders in big holding companies like Trade Kings. If we fail to plan for major industrial activities by embarking on such incentives as done by our Ethiopian counterparts there will be a hell to pay and no amount of relief food will save the masses for we will be dying before we can even scream poverty! And if all this is not enough to persuade us as a nation then perhaps a reminder would be in order,in our very own National Assembly there lies two huge Elephant tusks, ask yourselves if they are fake or real? and if they are real let it be known that they grew on "mammoth" sized elephants when the air was cleaner and richer and that such a time may never grace us with it's presence if we are not Prudent.
Beyond Kafue's atmosphere, A Blue Sky.

Evidence to prove the photo prior to this is Legit.

Kafue's Gray horizon on a Smoky day.

Corporate responsibility cannot be neglected! !!!
